Trading the Gamma Flip Level

Not financial advice. Verify claims independently.

The gamma flip is the single most useful level on a GEX profile: the price where net dealer gamma changes sign. Cross it, and the hedge reaction function flips with you (or against you).

Setup anatomy

  • Spot above flip, long-gamma regime: fades toward walls often work better than breakout chases.
  • Spot below flip, short-gamma regime: momentum and squeeze dynamics get dealer fuel.
  • Pin risk near large walls: expiration gravity can dominate discretionary conviction.

A simple rehearsal checklist

  1. Mark flip / call wall / put wall before the open.
  2. Define invalidation (e.g. reclaim of flip after a short-gamma breakdown).
  3. Paper-trade the reaction — not the prediction — for a week.

Use Stock Picks to walk the same levels with options greeks visible, zero premium at risk.
